Best SEO Plugin and Finding Blog Topic Ideas

SEO Plugins and Blog Topic Ideas

In this episode of the Ms. Ileane Speaks Podcast the conversation focuses on finding the best SEO plugins and how to get started with good topic ideas for a new blog.

Best WordPress SEO Plugin and Ideas for Blog Posts

First you'll hear from Jay Cartere. I first got introduced to Jay from his YouTube channel and now that we are both using Anchor to create audio content I guess you could say we have a lot in common. Looking at the About section on Jay's YouTube confirms my theory. It says Jay is “a Youtuber, gamer, musician and marketer from London” that's a quite a load of accomplishments, so you can see why I say that the two of us have a lot in common.

So I got pretty excited when I checked my Anchor notifications and saw that I got a Call-in from Jay.

SEOPressor versus Yoast SEO

One of the (many) things Jay is working on is updating his blog. He's researching SEO plugins and comparing SEOPressor to Yoast SEO. He mentioned that he saw my testimonial on the pricing page for SEOPressor. I had a real flash back when I heard him say that. My mind went back to a time that I'll call “the glory days”.

Back around 2011, 2012, 2013 and even parts of 2014 when I was using the SEOPressor plugin, my blog traffic (over on Basic Blog Tips) was going through the roof!

But times changed and Google set their animals loose on the internet (Panda, Penguin, Pigeon, etc.) and I ended up switching to a more light weight plugin for SEO.

I tried a few of them and most of them I don't even remember the names of them because in the end, I finally made the switch and started using Yoast.

When I Met Joost de Valk aka Yoast

Joost gave a presentation at WordCamp US 2016 and I added a short clip from his talk to the podcast but you can watch the video from here:

Here's one of the Ussies that Joost and I took right after his SEO presentation here in Philly.
